NASTEX 2026 Opens Under the Patronage of President Ahmad al-Sharaa, Marking a New Chapter for Syria’s Textile Industry

The opening of NASTEX 2026 represents a pivotal milestone in the development of Syria’s textile sector.

The exhibition officially opened under the patronage and in the presence of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmad al-Sharaa, highlighting the strategic importance of the textile industry and its role in supporting the national economy, strengthening production, encouraging investment and building partnerships that contribute to the revitalisation of Syrian industry.

The official opening ceremony was held at the Damascus Conference Palace, with the participation of more than 1,000 government, business and diplomatic figures, alongside leading industrialists, investors and businesspeople from Syria and abroad.

The ceremony featured a diverse programme reflecting the identity and mission of the exhibition.

It began with the screening of the official NASTEX 2026 launch film, followed by a speech from Fadi Ahmad, founder of the Syria International Textile Exhibition — NASTEX.

The programme also included the announcement of Syrian Textile Week, as well as a speech by Minister of Economy and Industry Dr Nidal al-Shaar, who emphasised the importance of developing the sector and enhancing its competitiveness.

The ceremony concluded with a speech by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, in which he underlined the importance of supporting productive sectors, strengthening national industry and creating an environment that encourages investment.
