Dr Youssef Al-Hajar, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, visited NASTEX 2026, where he toured several exhibition pavilions and reviewed the products, technologies and industrial solutions presented by participating Syrian and international companies.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates had appointed Dr Al-Hajar to manage the Foreign Affairs Office within the Minister’s Office.
During the tour, Dr Al-Hajar listened to presentations from company representatives and exhibitors regarding their participation, business activities and the leading products and innovations they offer across the fabric, apparel, furnishings, machinery and production-line sectors.
He was also introduced to modern technological solutions related to textile manufacturing and industrial development.
Exploring the Capabilities of Syrian Industry
The visit provided an opportunity to review the capabilities of Syria’s textile sector and the accumulated industrial and craft expertise of local companies.
Dr Al-Hajar also learned about projects aimed at developing production, improving product quality and strengthening the ability of Syrian industry to compete and access new markets.
The tour included pavilions combining Syria’s textile heritage with contemporary design, as well as projects seeking to reintroduce silk, Damascus brocade and traditional crafts through modern products that preserve local identity while responding to market requirements.
Exhibitions as a Gateway to Economic Communication
The visit by the Director of the Foreign Affairs Office carries particular importance given the role specialised exhibitions can play in promoting Syrian products and establishing communication channels between local companies, economic delegations and international institutions.
NASTEX provides a meeting space for manufacturers, investors and suppliers of machinery and technology.
This enables participants to explore cooperation opportunities, exchange expertise and introduce potential partners to the opportunities available within the textile sector and its related industries.
The visit also reflects the importance of integration between economic activity and foreign relations.
Industrial events can help present a comprehensive image of the capabilities of Syrian companies and encourage communication with potential partners in Arab and international markets.
NASTEX as a Platform for Industry and Investment
NASTEX continues to welcome official and economic figures, as well as Syrian and international delegations, who tour its pavilions and explore the products, technologies and industrial experiences presented by participating organisations.
This participation reinforces the exhibition’s role as a platform that goes beyond product displays by connecting industry, investment and technology.
It also opens opportunities to build new relationships and partnerships that support Syria’s textile sector and strengthen its presence in foreign markets.
